Posing with the model dugong: Here, we saw the only two dugongs in captivity in the Southern Hemisphere. They are similar to manatees. Sailors used to mistake them as mermaids.

Big aquatic life right over our heads: In this tunnel, we saw ray sharks, tiger sharks, manta rays, huge sea turtles, among many other things.

A view from our ferry headed toward the Taronga Zoo. Climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a popular attraction added in the past few years for those not afraid of heights. If you click on the picture for the full-resolution version, you'll see people walking on top of the bridge's arches.

You can see the Sydney Opera House to the left. Our vantage point here is the zoo in North Sydney looking across the harbor toward the part of Sydney that we stayed in, the Central Business District.

We took in a 3D IMAX show while we were there. We saw a presentation on the ocean off the coast of Africa, and David was quite amazed at 3D sharks swimming right at him!

We made a 15-block fruitless trek (there and back) in search of the infamous Sydney Hard Rock Cafe, that apparently closed eight years ago, but our travel book failed to tell us that. Here we are outside of where it used to be, hungry and frustrated. :)

We went across the Harbour Bridge by subway to visit a small, old, local amusement park called Luna Park. Here we are outside the entrance of the park catching another view.

A small ferris wheel (it looks higher than it was, because of the angle of my camera): My fear was that David would take it into his head to try to climb out. Thankfully, he was slightly more cautious than his usual self.

We took in one show at the Sydney Opera House, Le Grand Cirque, which was a great trapeze, stunt, and contortionist show!

Christopher got to see a Star Wars exhibit at the Powerhouse Museum the last day we were in Sydney.
