Cub Scout Campout
You might wonder where Cub Scouts go camping on Kwaj, with no fresh-water lakes around or "woods" to speak of. Well, Kwaj Cub Scouts pitch their tents seaside and spend their tropical overnight alternating between opening the tent door to allow a break from the humidity and welcome fresh air, to closing it to shut out rain and ghost crabs. Christopher had his first campout, Kwaj-style, and seemed to rest just fine (not sure about Mark). Will any campout back home rate the same after this first one here? I'm not sure. But, the normal elements of campout life were there: making ice cream in a bag, grilling sandwiches on a "buddy burner," relay races, stories around the fire, and making s'mores. Enjoy the pictures!
