Weekend Trip to Roi-Namur

After living on our island with 1600 other people for a couple of months, we decided to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life here and go somewhere remote for a weekend getaway. Roi-Namur, population 80 and 40 miles away by plane, is a nice place for some R & R. Imminent budget cuts will make trips like this more difficult and more expensive, so we decided to make the trip while the flights were still free.

Since the medical facilities on Roi would not be able to handle a severe allergic reaction in a small child, we decided at the last minute not to take David on this trip. Bonnie stayed home with him while I took the older two kids. We stayed in the "vacation quarters" and rented a golf cart to tour the island.
