School Starts
We had about 3 weeks to get ourselves adjusted and settled in here before school started up and life got a bit busier. Christopher bikes back and forth 3/4 mile to school every day on his own (well, actually, in the company of a mad traffic rush of other school-aged riders, some pedaling their small bikes with training wheels very rapidly to catch up with an older sibling). Caroline has joined the preschool traffic to and fro, also about 3/4 mile, except only in the AM and completely accompanied by Mommy and David. Everyone (including Mark) comes home for lunch 11:30 to 12:30 and then bicycles back to work/school. The few vehicles that function here don't stand a chance on the roads at certain times of day. Ever see a 3-year-old give a left-hand turn bike signal to the traffic cop? Yup! You grow up fast here on Kwaj. (David still much prefers the "chariot" he rides in attached to my bike. He can enjoy a sippy cup of water and a nice view at his leisure in the hot, midday sun.)
